Cadiz - Beach time!

The 3rd city on our Semana Santa tour was Cadiz, a small beach city on the southwest corner of Spain. We arrived in Cadiz after a LONG bus ride from Granada, only to find that our hostel had made an error and lost our booking. After a few hours of cold-calling hotels (thanks to Cordae's stellar Spanish) and roaming around the internet, we found a hotel to stay at. And man was it amazing! Here's a shot of Hotel Playa Victoria:

And the view from our room (and me acting like it was Christmas morning!):

and the beach outside our room:

Cadiz is right on the water and was an important port city in Spain for many years. There are amazing fortresses built on the water, which we were anxious to explore. Nina and I got some great shots of the fortresses and of the ocean views.

Another part of Cadiz's beauty is its blanket of white rooftops and views of the Atlantic Ocean. Here are a few more shots we took from along the roofs.

Another attraction that we found in Cadiz was a beautiful park and garden. The girls went on a little tour of the park and got some really beautiful pictures. There were supposedly monkeys living somewhere in this park, but we didn't see any, unfortunately.

After 2 days of R&R in Cadiz, we were headed to Sevilla for Easter Sunday and our final stop for Semana Santa 2009!
